5 Questions - number 35 - name 50.jpg

With True Believers 2018 fast approaching, we put 5 Questions to Michael Robertson...

What will people find at your table at True Believers 2018?

I have two comics in print and hope to have a third by TBCF.  One is an anthology around the theme of monsters. The other one centres around the theme of gods. I hope to have a one shot post-apocalyptic comic done by then too. I also have prose novels. The Alpha Plague books 1-8, which is a post-apocalyptic series. And The Shadow Order books 1-5, which is a space opera series. I’ll have some enamel badges for sale with my comics imprint on them - Off-Kilter Comics.

What do you love about creating comics?

Seeing the art come back. I’m always amazed by visual storytelling. I especially enjoy being able to trim my script down because of the artist’s great storytelling.

What part of creating comics do you find the most challenging?

Finding great artists to work with - that I can afford the page rate for. It can get very expensive very quickly.

What do you love about being at a comic con?

It’s nice to chat with a great bunch of people who are interested in the same things I am.

What comic - other than your own - would you recommend people read?

Metal Made Flesh by Jeremy Biggs and Simeon Aston.
