We put 5 Questions to Laura from Silhouette Artwork...
Q) What’s the secret origin story of Silhouette Artwork and how did it all come together?
Silhouette Artwork started after my partner suggested that I do comic cons since a lot of people liked the style of my work. I didn't really think anything would come of it but one year later and I am travelling across the country doing different conventions!
Q) What inspires you to create?
Mainly I draw what I would love to have as a tattoo! I personally have none but I hope that perhaps in the future people will have my artwork as tattoos! Plus I absolutely suck at colour, so black and white works well!
Q) Since you started, what moment has been your highlight so far?
A highlight would definitely be meeting Dave Prowse (The original Darth Vader) in Edinburgh. He was lovely, complimented my work and really boosted my confidence! Also just getting to go to such a variety of events and meeting amazing groups of people!
Q) This is your first year at True Believers, what can people expect to find at your table on the day?
People can except to find a range of monochrome style work from their favourite anime's, games and comic characters! I also do Mandala Pokémon, small little drawing of a range of Pokémon.
Q) If you could pick one line that inspires you from a comic or nerd culture as your life motto, which would you choose?
"Where force fails, cunning prevails" Arsene Lupin. I always have loved this quote.
And don't forget to stop by her table at #TBCF2017 and say "Hello".
