We put 5 Questions to Rob from RNG Comics...
Q) What’s the secret origin story of RNG Comics and how did it all come together?
I had been selling off my collection of comics for a number of years and one of my friends (Gordon) decided to combine his collection with mine to sell at comic marts/conventions, We couldn’t think of a cool name so we just used our first names (Rob and Gordon). Pretty boring story really.
Q) Since you started, what moment has been your highlight so far?
Over many years I have been very lucky in managing to meet/chat to a lot of the big names who wrote and drew the comics that I read as a youngster. Creators such as Frank Miller, Jim Starlin, Walt Simonson, Howard Chaykin, Steve Englehart, Alan Moore.
Q) What’s your favourite thing about what you do?
It’s always nice to see the look on a person’s face when someone asks you for a random comic to complete a run/collection and you have it. I know that from personal experience - I am still searching for a few comics to complete my own collection
Q) This is your third year at True Believers, what can people expect to find at your table on the day for 2017?
Hopefully lots of great comics at great prices
Q) If you could pick one line or moment from a comic, which would it be?
When I first started reading comics a lot of the major characters were being created or killed so there are too many just to pick one – I was gobsmacked when Gwen Stacey died, loved it when 2000AD was launched, Frank Miller’s amazing re-launch of Daredevil, Alan Moore’s run on Swamp Thing...
