5 Question Interview #72...

We put 5 Questions Jack and Leo from Blackveil Entertainment...

Q) What’s the secret origin story of Blackveil Entertainment and how did it all come together?

A) An accident involving a teleporter, five cinnamon rolls, and the ghost of Verity Lambert. We began with half an idea between us and a budget composed of what was in our pockets, and we've found ourselves having done two convention appearances, living in a TARDIS set and having far too much fun to know what to do with.

Q) What inspires you to create?

A) Caffeine. Also the desire to bring to the fore what so much of genre fiction puts on the back-burner - rich themes, diversity and representation. But mostly caffeine.

Q) Since you started, what moment has been your highlight so far?

A) Jack: Too many to choose from! A big highlight for me has been both of our True Believers appearances, especially when the little ones get to interact with our props. Lotta joy on those faces.

Leo: I recently had the pleasure of inviting a friend of mine onto our TARDIS set. The look of sheer delight and wonder when I snapped my fingers and the lights came on perfectly encapsulated why I love what I do with Blackveil.

Q) This is your third year at True Believers, what can people expect to find at your table on the day?

Jack: Wait, we have a table?

Leo: It's a big project with a lot going on. Expect concept art, props, costumes, script excerpts...

Jack: And a trailer!

Q) If you could pick one line that inspires you from a comic or nerd culture as your life motto, which would you choose?

Leo: "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life." ~ Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: The Next Generation)

Jack: "You're much stronger than you think you are. Trust me." ~ Superman (All-Star Superman)
