The True Believers Comic Festival was founded in 2013 by comic book fans Stuart Mulrain, Jo Hartley and Andy Hanks with the objective of putting on a comic con event that put the focus back onto the comic books, their creators and the fans.

With the help of Cheltenham Comic Shop Proud Lion Comics and local comic creator Jon Lock, we launched our Kickstarter campaign to partially fund our first event.  With the huge support of our backers, the Kickstarter was a success and our first True Believers Comic Festival arrived at Cheltenham Racecourse on Saturday 7th February 2015.

Since then True Believers has returned to the Racecourse on Saturday 6th February 2016 and will be back on Saturday 4th February 2017 for our third event.  On top of our main event, we also run mini comic-con events, including the Comic Fair at Smokey Joe's in Cheltenham and Mall-Con at Eastgate Shopping Centre in Gloucester and will launch our first Evening With... event in August.

True Believers is made possible by the support of everyone who attends (on both sides of the tables) and our team of volunteers, who are on hand as Agents at the events to help the day run smoothly for all involved.

This is the video for the 2014 True Believers Kickstarter. The video contains the original date for the event and the Kickstarter has now ended, but the video features a bit of talk about the event and the venue.
