We put 5 questions to Evil Kat Studios Shaun Dobie...
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Shaun Dobie, founder of Evil Kat Studios and a colourist, writer, comic creator, and all round geek based in Salisbury, UK. I work as an internet developer by day, but every non-working hour is spent colouring other projects, such as The Red Mask From Mars, or working on my own comic, Descending Outlands.
I am also a dance teacher, and singer for the band Nonpology.
What can people expect to find at your table at True Believers?
Besides witty banter, laughs, and good looks, you will find copies of my comic Descending Outlands, a space epic following Nate Avery and his crew of rogues as they bite off more than they can chew. As well as that, you will be able to pick up some postcards and posters of artwork that i have coloured.
What’s your favourite thing about what you do?
I love being creative and being involved with the amazing community of the indie comic scene (they are all amazing and very talented). Working on my own comic specifically gives me the freedom to create what I want as well, rather than having to conform to another person’s vision.
What was the first comic you collected?
It’s been a while so not sure if I remember the first specifically, but I do recall a lot of Uncanny X-Men, Venom: Lethal Enforcer.
If you had to recommend one comic (or story arc) to people, which would it be?
Was always a big fan of Marvels Maximum Carnage and Onslaught. Also loved Y – The Last Man.
(never was very good at picking just one thing),
Be sure to stop by Evil Kat Studios Table at #TBCF2016 and say hello.
