We put 5 Questions to returning True Believers Guest Lee Townsend...
What’s your favourite thing about what you do?
I consider my self very lucky to be doing what I enjoy the most for a living, I have always loved drawing form a early age and If this wasn’t my job I would still be doing this 24/7.
When attending conventions it is always nice to see how pleased people are with a commission I have done for them, and how much they have enjoyed something I have worked on, which means a lot.
What was the first comic you remember reading/collecting?
A Batman & Superman annual my parents got me for Christmas, I think the following year it was a Marvel one which had the Hulk story from #108 reprinted in it still one of my favourite story’s to this day.
I brought the comics soon after which would have been the Marvel UK reprints at the time - all printed in glorious black and white! - and later the American ones from my local newsagents (Spiderman, Iron Man, Hulk, Batman, Superman).
What was the first comic you professionally worked on?
Which comic or comic book character would you most like to work on if you were given the chance?
If you had to recommend one comic (or story arc) to people, which would it be?
Any of the Stan Lee/John Romita Sr Spider-Mans are perfect #41-43, 50,53-56 and to many more to mention!
Be sure to check out Lee's website where you can find out more information about his work and how you can commission a piece and be sure to stop buy his table at True Believers 2016 and say "Hello!".
