The 5 Question Interview #18 with James Stayte

We put 5 Questions to artist James Stayte...

Who are you and what do you do?

My name is James Stayte, I'm a freelance illustrator and I make my own comics.

What can people expect to find at your table at True Believers?

You'll find all 3 issues of my comic, Big Jimmy. It's about a Martian boy who finds himself representing his planet in a galaxy wide fighting tournament. Its a mixture of action…and comedy!

What’s your favourite thing about what you do?

I like to make people laugh with my comics. I laugh at them all the time, they're hilarious! I'm the best!

What was the first comic you collected?

The Beano. I always liked Calamity James, it was gross and awesome!

If you had to recommend one comic (or story arc) to people, which would it be?

Probably Calvin & Hobbes, it's beautiful and funny and clever and stupid and loud and peaceful all at the same time. It might be my favourite arty thing ever in the history of art.

Thanks James.
