ARTIST ANGST

by KEV BRETT

"It’s easy making comics." "Comic creators are so fun and easy going." Think again. Here’s what really goes on in the life of a comic creator.

From the “genius” mind that brought you “The Making of a Comic Con” and “WORK”, comes a new comic about the trials and tribulations of being a comic book creator.*

* He realises that it’s a bit of a cop out to make comics about making comics...but it was a slow day at the office!

Available for the first time at True Believers 2018 and from www.piddleypix.com thereafter.

HEX LOADER #3

by DAN WHITEHEAD & CONOR BOYLE

Issue 3 of weird retro-gaming horror comic Hex Loader will be making its debut at True Believers Comic Festival this year. Written by Dan Whitehead, with art by Conor Boyle (Hookjaw), the series is set in the late 80s and follows directionless games programmer David as he is initiated into a surreal world of underground artists, techno-magic, and gun-toting wombats after unpacking cursed computer code. MANDY THE MONSTER HUNTER: THE LEGEND OF THE SPINDLY MAN #1 (of 4)

by MATT WARNER, MARK ADAMS, LYNDON WHITE & NIKKI FOXROBOT

Hellbound Media will be launching their most ambitious project yet – their first full colour mini-series.

Launching at True Believers, issue one (of four) of The Legend of the Spindly Man is a terrifying tale of fear and adventure. The comic is written by Hellbound Media co-founders Matt Warner and Mark Adams, with art by rising star Lyndon White (Hexes, Dracula, Sparks) and lettering by the legendary Nikki Foxrobot (Salvage).

A kickstarter campaign is currently running to fund the printing of issue one, giving a great opportunity for comic fans attending True Believers. Anyone backing the original art reward can choose their page at the con, have it signed by Lyndon (and the writers if they wish), and Hellbound Media might even throw in some extra bits and bobs.

Find out more on the KickStarter page.

MANDY

Mandy hunts monsters. Her name is whispered on the playground, a legend among the children of the world. Whatever creature troubles you, when the adults won't listen, it is Mandy that can help you out. All you need to do is draw a picture of the beast, and it will reach her.

THE SPINDLY MAN

Children are vanishing. The police have no leads. A small town holds its breath in anticipation of the next disappearance. The children know what hunts them. An entity dismissed by adults, but that feeds on the fear and trauma of those around it. The Spindly Man has come, a modern legend given life, the terrified children as its prey.

Mandy is the thing that the things in the dark are afraid of... until now.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE SAID ABOUT MANDY

A great concept and another great new female hero for the modern world, adding to an ever-growing cast of strong females that include Star Wars’ Rey and Disney’s Anna and Elsa. A hero that my daughter can root for.” - Pipedream Comics

Read it late at night with the lights turned down. This is similar territory to 'The Babadook', only with a heroine as magical as it's villains.” - John A Short, Kult Creations

The Show is a F@%$ed up tale of reality TV and the lunatics that create it. It's the Truman Show on a shoe string budget with Hunter S. Thompson as the show runner.

It's, well, it's the greatest show on earth...

“A SKETCHBOOK OF ROBOTS AND OTHER STUFF (BUT MAINLY ROBOTS)"

by ZOOT

Andy Hanks loves drawing. He also loves robots…

For the last 3 years, Andy -  also known as ‘Zoot’ has kept regular sketchbooks which he has tried to add to every day. The sketchbooks quickly turned from a chore and a practice exercise to a daily ritual and mild obsession.

The majority of the sketch book scribbles tended to be from his imagination, and the most of those turned out to robot based. After constant nagging from family and friends, he decided to put together a bound collection of pages from those sketchbooks which will be launching at True Believers 2018 at the 'I Am Zoot' table.

Go check it out!
