As with all True Believers events, we're all about the creative side of comics when it comes to our panels and workshops and this years Summer Variant offers two panels and two workshops designed to get your creative urges going and hopefully inspiring you to create something awesome too.

All panels, workshops and activities are included in the ticket price.

This years Panel Double Bill looks at the two key areas in making comics happen, with our panelists offering insights, hints, tips, cheats and more to help you create your comics or possibly offer you a new way to think about how you go about writing or drawing your comics.  Join our panelists will be talking about everything from the environments they work in, the practical aspects of the tools and techniques they use and how they think when they create.  If there's time, the panelists might also be able to answer some of your questions too, so bring them along on the day.

Both panels will be moderated by a member of the Awesome Comics Podcast.

As part of our ongoing mission to add more interactive fun to our events, we will again be bringing a couple of workshops to the Summer Variant aimed at igniting your creative spark.  This year we're bringing back two workshop favourites that are suitable for all ages and abilities to take part in.  Whether you're an old hand or somebody who just fancies trying something new, we have two fun interactive activities for you to take part in on the day.

Since we launched the Superhero Life Drawing session at True Believers 2017, it has become one of the most popular activities at our event, with an ever growing number of people taking part in drawing one of our cosplayers.  This time though, we're doing something different and will have two cosplayers modeling for you.

Join artist I Am Zoot and our models Tris Trinket and Mart (cosplaying as The Wasp & Yellowjacket) for a quick and relaxed drawing session in the sun (or indoors if the sun isn't willing to play).

Paper & pencils will be provided if needed, but you're more than welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Add 1 sheet of A4 paper, some pens and a dollop of creativity into a blender and mix for an an hour and a half and what you do get? A pulpy, inky mess!

Swap the blender part for help from comic artist Sarah Millman, and you’ll end up with a short six page comic or zine.

Join Sarah as she talks you through the basics you need to create your own mini-comic/zine in just an hour or two.

You can then either stay and soak up the creativity on the day to create your mini-comic, or take everything you've learned home at the end of the day and get creating in your own time.

This workshop is open to all ages and there is no drawing or writing experience necessary to take part.  Along with everything you need to create your comic, Sarah will also have some plot ideas to get you started (if you require any).

As well as all this awesomeness, we will also have an activity table featuring the return of our Draw Something Sunday Jam Sheet (see picture), some activity and colouring sheets and more.  The table will be available throughout the event for anyone who fancies taking part and adding to the jam sheet or doing one of the activity sheets and is suitable for all ages.
